Tim has been coaching men’s and women’s volleyball at the high school, collegiate and adult level in the Albany, NY area since 1998.
Most recently, Tim returned to his college alma mater, where he earned a degree in accounting, as head assistant coach for the Siena College women’s volleyball team during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. He was primarily responsible for the development of the offense and working with the setters as well as opponent scouting. In both seasons as an assistant with Siena, the team captured the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) tournament title and earned a berth into the NCAA tournament. Tim has also served as the head coach for the Adirondack Region Women’s Open Team at the Empire State Games during the summers of 2006 and 2007, as well as head coaching the Siena men’s collegiate club team during 2005-06 season. He is a USAV Impact CAP level I certified coach.
Tim is a managing member, tournament director and owner of Capital District Grass Doubles (CDGD), an organization that promotes competitive 2-on-2 volleyball tournaments through the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP).
He sets for local powerhouse Hack Fu, a USA men’s adult club team based in Albany, NY. and has competed in the US National Tournament, most recently playing in Austin, TX where the team captured the bronze medal.
Tim is a New York State certified volleyball official and serves the Capital District Board of Volleyball Officials (CDBVO) by officiating high school and collegiate competition. He also has regional and PAVO certifications and officiates USAV adult and junior volleyball competitions. Stewart has worked for Time Warner Cable as color commentator for all Siena College Volleyball broadcasts during the 2007 season.
For the 2008 NCAJ season, he has been charged with the task of developing and training setters and hitters and will be attending USAV coaching clinics to earn a USAV CAP Level II coaching accreditation.
